It happened on highway 167 right before 180th st exit. You will see her cross, flowers and balloons on the right hand side of the road. Katelyn was my niece and I love her to death. Her funeral is this Saturday at 1:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn. She will be missed dearly by all.

By KOMO Staff KENT, Wash. - A man and a woman has died after their car crashed into a tree while they were driving north on State Route 157 around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Kent fire officials said. King County medics and Kent firefighters responded to the scene between South 180th Street and South 212nd Street and found a car carrying a man and a woman had veered off the road to the right. Fire officials said the crash sent debris flying more than 100 yards from the scene. Firefighters were forced to use a tool called the 'jaws of life' to tear through the damage on the car and reach the victims. The woman died in the crash. The man was treated at the scene, but died from his injuries. Both were reportedly wearing their seat belts. Witnesses told state troopers the car was traveling at a very high speed just before the crash. They said the car first struck the concrete median before flinging to the right and driving off the road. Fire officials said the road was very wet and heavy rain was falling at the time of the crash. Investigators are awaiting toxicology results to determine whether alcohol played a role

The accident happened between 212th and 180th in Kent, WA on Highway 167 Northbound. I do not know Katelyn Moen but Jeremy Gidlund is the other who passed in the accident. May they both rest in peace, Jeremy was one of the nicest people I have ever known.

I did not know Katelyn but was saddened to learn of her young life cut so short. I was judging a gymnastic meet earlier this week where they had a moment of silence in her honor. It brought tears to my eyes to see everyone there bow their heads and ponder. From what I have gathered, Katelyn and Jeremy were both special people who will be missed by alot of friends and family. My heart goes out to all of you for your loss.
