How ridiculous is it that the WUSA had to fold, yet they've own more World Cups and other tournaments than the USA Men's team? My question is though, that if enough people supported the WUSA, would it be possible for the team to form again? And if yes, then how many of you would support it?

It was doomed from the start. Professional women's sports are just not widely watched in the United States. It doesn't matter how many World Cups they've won because Americans just don't like watching soccer. If you talk to foreigners, they're very passionate about soccer, They'll talk about the strategies, whether it's better to play an offensive or defensive game: Whether it's better to try to score at the risk of losing defense, or it's better to try to play for a tie game because they're guarantee a point. But if you ask Americans about soccer, you don't hear the passion about the sport in them.

There's a chance that WUSA may be revived, but don't expect it to happen anytime soon. It lost a lot of money, and it's going to tough to convince investors to give it another chance.

I would watch the game on TV, which I do when there's nothing else on. But paying to watch the game in person? No thanks.

The women have more world cups as the men have to play against many countries were football (soccer) is the most popular sport and has been for generations.

The womens teams play countries albeit with the same traditions, didn't encourage women to play the game, thus the US women are better.

But compared to the men the women are a joke, and if you look at improvements in the last 10 years the mens team has improved far more than the womens.

If your talking about the national team there is still a womens national team and there are ranked number 1 in the world by FIFA right now. If your talking about the Womens MLS then it was doomed. Americans didn't really watch soccer and still dont but it has become a "cult" sport you could say. Most women are not obsessed with sports like men where and did not go watch them play. Women sports are not taken seriously because women dont take them seriously. When women start to watch women play sports then men will follow.

WUSA soccer is one of the most respected female competitions in the world and I know lots of femal players that have aspired to be part of it.

As for the team, I know exactly how you feel, the Matilda's (Australian women's team) is higher in the ladder for the world cup then the mens team every was and yet no one ever hears about it.

As long as people have the opinion they do about women's soccer there will be no recognition for the temas that go well.

I would support the re forming of the WUSA team and I live in Australia :)

First of all, WUSA isn't a team, its a league...as far as it becoming a league again, that is in the makings already, it should be running in a year or two.

because women should be making babies rather than pretending to be good at sports
