Having no reliable all rounder, no accurate fast bowler of speed above 150 km/hr., poor fielding, keeping in the team too many lazy old dead horses, involvements of some players with girls & bad planning & strategy.

India did not take the lessons from earlier world cups in 1999 and 2003. In those world cups too India faced weak teams initially and did not perform well. Here too in 2007 WC they faced Bangaladesh in the first match. They were over confident. They should have realised that winning a match against weak team was more important than a strong team in the initial stage of the tournament because otherwise it will create a possibility for the weak team to sneak through into next stage. Had India been little more careful in the first match against Bangladesh they would have already been in super 8 without having to beat Sri Lanka. Having lost to Bangladesh they were under so much pressure that they could not hold their own in Sri Lanka Match. This was the only reason why they did not make it to super 8. Little carefulness against Bangladesh would have saved the India for another day in WC. Alas!

One of the reasons they dont play as unit like Australia & Sri Lanka.
Chappel, Dhoni & Vengsarkar too can not save face from this ignominous exit from world cup 2007.
It' was clearly Sachin's turn to save India.
It was supposed to ...Sachin's world cup.
Being senior most ,he should have waited until right moment comes instead of being panicky.
Furthermore it was only 250 odd runs to get....
Even big hitting Lankans got it by running between wickets.
Why he went for big booming drive ....Nobody knows..
We have solid facts for that.
SL has upper hand...for future games..
Its all the way for Asian Team
Though they beat india They still had to give their best ever performance..
When Uthappa and Ganguly walked in, India had a target of just 255 runs, on a wicket which had dried and gone flatter.
But nobody showed the determination to stay on, except Dravid. It was his flurry of fours off Malinga in one over that had raised the hopes of selfless Indian fans just for a while.
Any fair critc would sureto say that ,the turning point was Sachin’s getting out to Fernando, through the gate for a duck. That was a vital blow. India could not recover. The panic button was pressed. Whatever little chances India had went up in flames when Yuvraj was run out foolishly. There wasn't any run there.
Even in front of Bangladeshis Indians fell like a pack of cards. India’s strength was batting and given the proper conditions, their medium pacers and the spinners could be devastating. If not, their shoulders start drooping and the bowling goes haywire with all kind of experimentations. It could happen to the batting too.Any team they play they had those short cimmings.
Exactly opposite are Sri Lanka, except that their batting is as good if not better. Even Banladeshi young batters had much more conviction.Simmply Indian star batters failed big time.
Lanmans & Bangladeshis ground fielding was just outstanding. And most importantly, they played in team spirit and not as individuals. Indians were selfish.
They cared money too much. And that’s the thin line that differentiated the two teams. .
But they now have to beat only 3 teams to advance easyly to much awaited semi finals.

costly Cricket fans of India, we have no motives and any excuse of failure leads you nowhere. enable us to appreciate that we've been in no way a great ability in Cricket. As to respond to this question i'm giving a humorous answer which none of you may refute. India lost by way of Mrs.IndiraGandhi.Mrs.Gandhi created the rustic called Bangladesh.it rather is her blunder. I dont blame the gamers or the trainer. It became no longer a ask your self to me that we did't enter final 8. at some point cricket is approximately all rounders.you like atleast 3 or 4.What we had.4 wicket keepers.

If you check out questions relating "who'll win the 2007 cup" on this site which were asked before the starting of the tournament , many Indians were shouting 'India !', 'India !', 'India' and were giving huge explanations for this.
Now just look at the Indian team going back to India with their 'tails between their legs'. Thats the problem with many people these days, they think they are GOD.
But god brings them down to earth anyways.

The lost the match against Bangladesh because of over confidence and complacency and they under estimated Bangladesh. They lost the match against Sri Lanka because of lack of game plan, and dedication and fighting spirit. Both these matches were lost due to collective failure of batsmen and bowlers. Due to loss of these 2 matches they could muster only 2 points in group stages, whereas Sri Lanka and Bangladesh mustered 6 points and 4 points respectively and entered Super 8.

Overconfidence. Lack of organization, practice and motivation by both Captain and Coach.
They also didn't make it in super 8 because some of the current players aren't just capable, or they weren't while they were in world cup.

all the players play to yearn money
but they don't have much facilities except India
we support them we pray for them
but they get money by advertisement
then it that IT IS NOT they have to play
their concentration is in advertisement rather in playing
if they play one match they will earn RS 1,00,000
BUT ONE ADVERTISEMENT FOR A MINUTE IS
RS 1,00,00,000
THEN NATURALLY THEY DON'T PLAY
PLAYING IS WORKING HARD
BUT ADVERTISEMENT IS TO TALK A LINE AND
GET MONEY WHY SHOULD THEY PLAY?
WE GIVE THEM MORE FACILITIES
IT IS NOT THAT INDIA DOESN'T ENTERS SUPER 8
IF IT CONTINUES IT WILL NOT ENTERS WORLD CUP
