some pros are:
* Pregnancy prevention
* Lighter period (depending on which brand you use)
* It may regulate your period
* weight gain ( if you need to gain weight like i did)
*Less chance of getting ovarian cancer

some cons are:

* Nausea
*Headaches
* Using Depoprovera it may take a while to regain fertility
* Weight gain ( if you dont need to gain weight)

alot of the side effects depend on which brand you choose. But if you go to a clinic or doctor they will give you the one thats best for you.

Very effective against pregnancy if used correctly
Make menstrual periods more regular and lighter
Decrease menstrual cramps and acne
Makes you less likely to get ovarian and uterine cancer, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, and anemia
Doesn't interrupt lovemaking

Cons:
Doesn't protect against STDs
Cost between $15-$50 per month if not covered by insurance
Need to remember to take every day at the same time
Can't be used by women with certain medical problems or by women taking certain medications
Can cause side effects such as nausea, increased appetite, headaches, and, very rarely, blood clots
Need a prescription
Need to use a barrier method if a pill is missed or using certain medications
Can reduce sexual drive

I think the pros to birth control are stated just about everywhere, they prevent pregnancy and clear up your skin all while regulating your cycles and lessening the intensity of your cramps.

What I want to caution you against is letting anyone know that you are taking the pill if you start.

In guy language it means they shouldn't have to wear condoms because they can't get you pregnant!

Since the pill does nothing to protect you against STDs and condoms do lie and say you're not on the pill so guys won't try to not wear a condom. Protect yourself!
