It is called Newton's second Law. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Also, the law of conservation of momentum comes into play.

BOTH you are moving towards the earth and the earth is moving towards you, regardless of frames of reference or states of sobriety! Obviously (I used to hate it when my lecturer used that word!) you will move much further and faster than the earth, since the earth is so massive. The net momentum is zero, so your mv equals the earth's mv and since the m of the earth is a zillion times bigger than yours, it seems not to move at all perceptibly.

its a matter of gravity
you fall towards the earth
unlike the moon falling towards the earth
and the earth falling away from the moon at the same speed
so they never get any closer
about 1/4 of a inch per second

haha i guess it depends on how you feel when you're falling.

like someone who falls accidently would be thinking omg im gonna hit the ground..

but then someone who done it deliberately might be thinking the ground is moving towards me faster.

failing that, if you intended to kill urself when u jumped and then changed ur mind.. none of them thoughts would cross your mind... youd be thinking two words.. "oh f**k!"

Since your topic is Physics...

Strictly speaking, the earth and you should be moving toward each other.... I forgot the name of the law.....

However, there are other factors that hinder that from happening.
The earth is of larger mass than you, so you are the one going toward it.

It depends on whether you are larger than what you are 'falling' towards. Obejcts of lesser mass gravitate to objects of larger mass.
