Like, would you ever drive by their house to see how they're doing without you? I did that today, and I'm feeling kinda sheepish. I'm not necessarily regretting it, but I feel sheepish (baaaaa!) for doing it. (Do you hear the frog? Brrrrahh! Brrrrrahhh!)

My best friend says I'm not a schmuck. I say I am. What say you?

(I'm a schmuck...what of it?)

Yes I have been curious, and looked them up to 'see how they're doing.' Just to wallow a bit in 'what might have been.'

It's kinda like in When Harry Met Sally. When Sally is in tears because her old Joe is marrying a paralegal, Kimberly. Kimberly was supposed to be his transition person, not 'the one.' It's not that she would necessarily marry Joe, it's just that she wanted him to want to marry her.

We want to be more than a hand in a bucketful of water to someone, and that when we, the hand, are removed from the water (their life), we want the water still to be parted. We need to see that we mattered in their life.

Some part of us too wants us to feel as if we were the ones that made them 'prosper,' and if they are doing it by themselves or with someone else, it feels like a let down.

Cheap Trick knew it all the time: I want you to want me, I need you to need me....

You're not a schmuck. I know one (me) who has been more of schmuck. Her name is doublewidemama. I wish I had the power to make satisfaction in your behalf, but we know of only One who can do such things.

Yeah I guess I do sometimes I know my ex's passwords to stuff, and I go and see what he's buying on ebay etc. I just can't help it... but I am learning now that its not necessary to know this stuff cos it really has no place in my life... Seriously, I am trying to move on, but its hard...

I think curiousity is human nature. I am sure the thought has passed a lot of people's minds, even if they don't admit it.

it's natural to be curious about someone that was once a large part of your life.
