Wow, poor girl !! You've jus got a simple Vitamin B 12 deficienty !! Other symptoms of a B12 deficiency are irritability, moodiness, depression, head and hand sweats, heart palpitations and chest pain, fatigue and exhaustion, dizziness, headaches and migraines and impaired balance.
Sound familiar??

Sounds like you've been under added stress lately. In stress situations we need to increase our intake of the B Vitamin complex. B vitamins are water soluble and therefore our bodies cannot produce or store them. Therefore, we need to supply our bodies with them on a daily basis.

Eat more foods rich in these vitamins, specifically B12:

yeast, liver, eggs, milk, cheese and fish, kidney and pork.

Recommended daily for adults is 2mcg. I suggest you also go the chemist and ask the pharmacist to recommend a good quality brand for you to buy.

Don't buy synthetic vitamins ( the real cheap and nasty ones) cos they are too hard to digest. Ask the pharmacist for a multi B complex supplement (tablets). Dont buy them individually, the B complex group of vitamins work best synergistically (as a group) ie.: B1,B2,B3,B5,B6,B12.

For B12 to be properly assimilated through the stomach it is necessary to be combined with calcium during absorption to adequately benefit the body.

B12 vitamins will alleviate the stress and overwhelming feeling of wanting to scream and yell. It will also increase your energy levels, maintain a healthy nervous system, relieve moodiness and irritability, ease depression, fatigue and exhaustion and improve concentration, memory and balance.

Do you also have sore lips, mouth and tongue, cracked and splitting skin around your fingernails and grainy and sandy feeling eyes? Course you do ...... If so, this is also a vitamin B deficiency, vitamin B2 (Riboflavin). This vitamin will be included in the Multi B complex supplement that you buy. The Recommended daily intake for this vitamin is 1.2 - 1.7mg for adults.

Foods rich in B2 are milk, liver, kidney, cheese, leafy green vegies, fish, eggs, yoghurt and beans.

If you are a vegetarian and have excluded eggs and dairy products from your diet, then you need B12 supplementation. If you keep regular "Happy Hours" and drink a lot, B2 is an important supplement for you. Heavy protein consumers also need extra amounts of this vitamin.

If you choose to follow my excellent advice, you'll be very pleased you did and so will your purse!! You will get release from symptoms within a few hours.

So, gogogo get going and get those vitamins ........ please??

**** EDIT ******
Women may find B12 helpfull as part of a B complex during and just prior to menstruation.

The best thing I found for stress is Bach's Rescue Remedy, a flower essence combination that is safe and effective. A bottle will cost you maybe 15 dollars and will last several months if used as directed.... you only need 4 drops (it's a liquid) in a glass of water or put straight on the tongue.

Works like a charm!

There are many herbal products you can use and I'm sure you will get many suggestions for them, but at least try the Rescue Remedy (avail at any good health food store or online). You will feel it from the very first dose... calming and no side effects at all. Good luck.

A friend of mine swore that Valerian Root was a miracle for him in dealing with stress. I tried it and didn't has as much luck, so guess it varies per person. You could see how it works for you. On vacation once a friend of a friend had a herbal liquid treatment where you took a few drops. I must say that was pretty good for a fairly short term effect. She said you could get it in any health food store but I looked in a couple and didn't see it. But you might want to see if there is something like that you can find.

I personally think the key isn't soley in a pill...it's in finding a way to relax your mind and step back from life. I agree Camomille tea or a camomille blend can be soothing. To me a long bath in a jacuzzi, with candles and no phone is more effective than any pill out there. I sometimes meditate in there and combine 2 ways to take it down many notches. So I'd look to what calms YOU...maybe a guided meditation, some mellow music, a walk around a pond even. But find a way where you can leave work and school and everyday bs behind for a short while.

Good luck!!!!

This is going to sound really silly, but nothing calms me when I'm oober stressed like Natural Brew root beer (doesn't have caffine). I guess it's mix of spices in it and the fact that it raises my blood sugar. That's another thing, when I realize that I'm irrationally stressed, it's usually because I'm hungry, so don't skip meals. It's also good to always keep some jello (the real stuff, not w/ splenda) or even a jolly rancher, something relatively low cal, around for when I get cranky. By the way, you can get green tea without caffine.

Some sites that might assist you:

http://www.seredyn.com/zznaturalremedyforanxiety.html Lists various natural herbal remedies

http://www.nextag.com/NATIVE-REMEDIES-PureCalm-for-500592605/prices-html Offers a product called Purecalm, I ordered this one for my daughter who suffers from Panic attacks but it is for stress as well...she found it to work quite well. This company is great to deal with, courteous helpful staff and very fast, as promised, service. They have a number of other herbal remedies.

This should get you closer to your goal...hope it all works out for you.

Also, chamomile tea is suppose to be a calming and stress relieving drink as well as relaxation techniques such as self induced imagery relaxation...once you practice this a few times, you may find it an excellent tool for calming down. I was provided with this technique just after my car accident to help me through severe pain. I still use it in various situations including stress or anxious situations. Here's how:

Lie flat on a floor with a mat or blanket beneath you, or on a bed. Close your eyes, breath deeply a few times, then work your way from your feet up to your head relaxing each part by concentrating on each one...first your feet, tell yourself to feel the stress draining out of them, relaxing the muscles, loosening the tension...then move up to the ankles, do the same thing, then the lower legs, upper legs, back, fingers, hands, wrists, arms, neck, jaw, mouth, eyes, forehead. By this time you should feel heavy as tho it will be hard to move any part of your body...that's what you are after. From here envision the most peaceful, serene and happy place you can...this can be a summer vacation spot, a secluded white sand beach with crystal clear turquoise water...etc Now, you will imagine you are at the top of a set of stairs... You will walk down each stair to the bottom, counting 10, 9, 8,7...to 1 at which time you'll envision a door, at this door you will drop all the problems, concerns and issues you are dealing with at the door, they won't go through the door with you ... open the door, and walk into your 'happy' place. Envision the view, look around, enjoy ... relax. Don't be surprised if during these sessions, particularly if you are a very vividly imaginative person, you find yourself falling asleep. This is perfect. When you are ready to leave your 'happy' place, simply open the door and begin the ascent up the stairs, you're going to leave all those things you put outside the door, right were they are. You'll count 1, 2, 3....up to 10 envisioning your step up to each stair. At the top of the stairs upon opening your eyes you should feel very relaxed, refreshed and able to cope again.

There are CDs available that offer soothing sounds...ocean waves, tropical sounds, calming music etc. which are an excellent tool to assist in envisioning places or things. Also, you can get them with a narrator who walks you through the relaxation exercise.

Good luck with whatever method(s) you try and find work for you.

I've heard there are various herbs out there for anxiety. However, I don't think any of them really work like what you would want them to. They might help someone with mild anxiety, but I even doubt that. Valerian, St Johns, etc...I think just a waste of money. But at least they aren't addictive.

there are several very effective herbal remedies for sleeplessness. Try either Valerian Root or Kava Kava. The Valerian I think works better for stress and the Kava Kava for sleep. It also sounds like you need to do something to reduce the stress in your life...just an observation.
