Broccoli is grown from seeds or seedling. A seedling is started in a green house from seed. Grown in seed pots or trays. this is a Cole crop meaning that is can be planted in early spring . It can take cool night and cool days. Many farmers like myself can direct seed it into the soil through a special planter hitch to a tractor. Or it can be transplanted from seedling from a a trans planter hitch to a tractor with several persons in a trans planter seat. Once in the ground planted in rows the farmer will cultivate the rows of broccoli keeping the weeds from over growing around the broccoli. Some farmer use an insecticide to stop cabbage worms from eating the broccoli. . Then the broccoli is harvest by farm workers by cutting the heads off the plant and package in boxes and then shipped out various distributors then to stores. Store in vegetable crisper or bin. should last 3-7 days.I steam my broccoli then a litter smart balance and good to eat.
