Do you have a systematic way of licking...?

your ice cream? Starting at the bottom? Or the top?

I like to lick the cream out of the middle like an Oreo cookie. Now it has been a while since I sampled the cream in the middle but if I did it would have to be a pretty well known and clean cookie. Oh, you are talking about ice cream, then I take long, slow licks and I tend to treat the cone as if it were a perfectly shaped nipple.

I start at the bottom and lick toward the top a few times, then I start circling from the bottom to the top in a spiral pattern.

I just work around the edges gently until the ice cream's reactions tell me that it's ready to be fully licked.

Sheridan's always makes a little peak right at the top. I lick that and then go around and around and back to the top.

I slurp back the ice cream and then just attack the inside of the cone and get the dregs.....

after that I toss the limp insides away and have a nap

I like to start down at what I call the "foot" of the cone. I then painstakingly work my way up the "legs." I pay special attention to the back of the "knees" of the cone, and then I settle down for a delicious desert at the "y."

.....I like to start at the bottom, slowly working up with anticipation, until you finally reach that point at the top center you can tickle with the tip of your toungue... that brings satisfaction.
