They poop, give it to their alien masters. The aliens masters feed it to their slaves, and out of a slave's ear comes a horse.

IMO, better safe than sorry. Although there is such a thing as too much babying as well. Children do need to learn in a safe environment but not a sheltered one. They lose too much when you shelter them too much and sometimes it does take touching the stove to know it's hot. An infant, I wouldn't be taking around horses except in the stroller or such with a stalled horse or on the other side of a fence. A toddler, right next to me at all times and never in the stall with a horse who's not size appropriate (because it only takes one right step). At the same time, I have no problem with 3 year olds or 4 year olds riding on the lead pony without an adult or even on their own in an enclosed area on a safe horse (or pony). At this age they need to be learning on their own about the horses and proper safety at an age appropriate level. I also prefer a child to have a pony that is size appropriate and skill appropriate. I know those older horses are golden as child's horses, but to me they are too big. A child can't learn how to saddle up a horse they can't reach or groom one correctly. If they fall the length is too big for their body size. I know it's a pain to try and find child safe ponies since adults can't ride the smaller ones, but I feel a child is safer on a size appropriate horse. That has always been my opinion. When they hit the 8-10 range then they can move up to the golden oldies. I am a bit paranoid, it's hard for me to let go sometimes with children, but I've had to learn with friend's and my younger sister. I had my 2 year old brother die in a freak accident when I was 10 so it has instilled a fear in me about how fragile children are, but at the same time they have to experience and learn for themselves.

... the birthing process?

Horses "do it" in a field or pasture. The stallion (the male) mounts the mare (the female), and shortly thereafter, she conceives. She's pregnant for nearly a year (335-340 days).

Then the mare goes into labor, but it's not nearly as loud as for a human- A mare doesn't get all mad and swear at the stallion for knocking her up... Anyway, there's a lot of walking around, sweating, pushing.... Then the foal's front hooves emerge.... followed quickly by the nose and the rest of the baby.

The mare nudges the baby licks and cleans him/her off. Ideally, the baby starts standing within an hour or so. If Baby doesn't stand, he/she can't eat, so standing is pretty darn important!!

horses mate and the female horse carriers the baby horse inside it's belly until it is ready to be born. then it pushes the baby horse out of it;s butt. the baby horses comes out of it's mama inside a sack which needs to be broken quickly or the baby horse will suffocate.
