computer for safe keeping? I am running windows xp. Please help!

To store a document so you can view it online, you need to scan in the document. There are flatbed scanners that you can use (eg. HP Scanjet) or a multifunction printer (sometimes called an "all-in-one") that have a built-in scanner.

Another option is to use a digital camera and take a close up shot of the document. It is not very good for fine printed text like you find on a contract, but can sometimes work if you are stuck and don't have access to a scanner. I wouldn't try to use a photo of the contract as a legal copy of the contract however!

You need to scan your document with a software.

For that you will need a piece of hardware ( a scanner )
