Just like with everything in life, it is better to deal with it honestly instead of lying or manipulating people to get your way. Tell your mom the truth. Believe it or not if she makes you tough out the season its not a bad thing. You need to learn that when you make a commitment you need to stick to it no matter how much it hurts. And on the grand scheme of things your problem isn't so bad.

Like others have said, quit whining and don't quit. You made a cvommitment, you should stick with it. Especially if some people got cut from the team. My senior year in hs I cut cut from teh basketball team (the coach already had the team picked with all of his favorites and suck ups) and a week later one of the little [CENSORED] quit because he didn't want to work hard or come off the bench. I would have given my left nut to have been on the team, even as the 12th man.
Besides, sticking with a commitmenteven when it stops being as fun is an important life lesson. Esprecially if you ever want to have a relationship that lasts longer than 2 weeks.

dear 9th grade,, 25 yrs ago I experienced the same problem only in wrestling. ( i wasn't that good) I found something that I was good at in practice!(running laps - I wasn't the fastest but worked on it) because of this I got stronger, became a decent wrestler and if it hadn't been for blowing out my knee my sr. year I would have made it to the state tourney.
Baseball is a great sport,, find something you like about it,, excell and before you know it,,whop knows you copuld end up a star. I can't tell you to quit or not to quit, just follow your heart. Life is tough, the decisions you make now prepares you for what lies ahead.
sticking it out this season will help you in 20 yrs when you are in that dead in job. best of luck

Hey man you are a freshman playing on JV instead of the freshman team so you should be grateful and finish out the season, but if you really want to get off the team tell her you cant focus on your studies and baseball and that you think you should take this year off.

oh to be back in the 9th grade. i thought the same thing, staying after school everyday for practice, then the games, and more practice. if i could do it all over again i would have practice harder, stayed for extra practice. dont give it up. you will look back some day and say. " if i would have only stuck with it. that could be me out there"

There's no crying in baseball kid! Get your azz out there and play instead of doing drugs or whatever you'll be doing while skipping practice. Kids these days.

The only advice I can give is to not quit. I will guarantee you will regret quitting. I have been there and I made the wrong choice. Just tough it out and enjoy it while you can.
