Is it true that Auckland New Zealand is a Gay Mecca? How does it compare to cities like West Hollywood, Vancouver B.C., and Toronto?

I wouldn't call it a gay mecca, but it definately has it's culture.
Once a year there is a great gay festival called hero festival. It spreads around the whole city and next year they plan to have a parade again (after several years without) http://www.hero.org.nz/

The K-Road (Karanagahape Road) is the place to go to get a first sight of the gay culture, having heaps of gay and gay friendly bars, pubs and discos.

There is a gay marriage in New Zealand and for imigrants a partnership can as well be a single sex relationship, to be recognised.

So after all I would say Auckland is very gay friendly, but maybe not a mecca like West Hollywood.

Yes Auckland is a gay city where celebrations happen in but it is not known for its gay city, its known for its beaches thats why of course it is called the city of sails and you will enjoy that city for places you can visit as well like the Sky Tower (New Zealand's biggest building) Hope you're keen on visiting!

Below are some addresses that may (or may not) help you.
The dating one allows for gay contacts, the Scandals one has a "male seeks--" page and a "female and couple seeks--".
Don't put any messages on the wrong one, you'll get flamed and sent to Coventry.
There are many contact bars, clubs and houses in Auckland, but the visitor is unlikely to find their way around without guidance.
Bon chance.

do no longer complication there is thousands of people and different cultures in Auckland. it rather is once you get out to the wop wops that there is no longer many people. a great number of stuff to do. There are dodgy aspects (I make it sound undesirable besides the undeniable fact that it rather is probs no longer something while in comparison with usa.) however the Albany and the north shore hours be high-quality by way of fact they're wealthy-ish aspects. it could get slightly costly, the closer you reside to the city the better the hire would be. a great number of people pass to Australia by way of fact it rather is greater reasonably priced and there is greater jobs, so yeah Melbourne may well be greater suitable. Out of everywhere in New Zealand i could want to stay in Auckland in spite of the undeniable fact that.
