A number of folks above have mentioned EBAY.

Yes, Ebay is really a terrific thing and a great place to buy. But, it's not a store and the way you deal with EBAY is different. If you know what you are getting into and you have reasonable expectations, you can really get some great deals on EBAY.

I've written an article about this and I'll link it below.

It's true that there are a lot of other places to buy, but the ultimate deal you get won't be as good. Here's why.

In a store you get a firm fixed price. You know with certainty that if you pay $1.50 you will get the card that is marked $1.50 that's in the case. You can look at it and inspect it before you buy it.

On EBAY, you need to bid. You might not win. But, you also stand a good shot at getting the same card for 50 cents. But you also need to work in shipping when you shop on ebay. Then again, all the online sellers will change for shipping.

My point is that on EBAY, you could spend 4 days waiting to see if you win the auction and then not win at the last minute and then you've blown 4 days of waiting to save a buck.

But, if you win a bunch of auctions from the same seller, you just might get a shipping discount and come out WAY ahead. Ebay is like this, it's sort of unknown what you're going to get, but you just might hit it big.

You can take some of the unknown out of the Ebay experience by using the "Buy-It-Now" method. This way you get the card for sure, but you might pay a little more for it.

You also might consider trading cards. Join the Pojo Trade forum. It's free to join and there's a lot of other yu-gi-oh players and collectors there. I'll provide a link below for that too.

If you really want to shop an online retailer, I'll ad some links below. It's hard to say which is better because prices vary on different items. It's best to compare the prices of what you want if this is the route you're thinking of taking. But, my personal experience would be to shop EBAY.

Oh, one last thought. Ok, two last thoughts -
1) If you can afford it, buying packs in boxes is cheaper on a per pack basis, but you don't know what cards you're going to get.
2) If you do buy boxes, you can defray some of your cost by selling the cards you don't want, maybe sell them on EBAY!

Good Luck and Happy Dueling!

magics been around since 93 not the 80s. but anyhow hit ebay all the online stores are way marked up, normally a few dollars more per card which adds up buying play sets. ebay is the best representation of what cards are worth as something is only worth what others are willing to pay for it. It will help you out with your trading as well by giving you a better idea of the true value of the cards.

drop yu gi oh, pick up magic the gathering. its the one card game thats an actual card game that doesnt need a cartoon to make it popular, its been here since the 80s and is still more popular then yu gi oh and pokemon combined at their peaks. plus its not easy and has original characters with original names
