1--The U.S. didn't declare itself independent of Britain on July 4, 1776. A resolution declaring independence was adopted on July 2, and the grand July 4 document so familiar to history was, legally speaking, only an explanation of that action.

2--Napoleon Bonaparte wasn't particularly short. In fact, he was about 5'6", which was slightly above average for a man of his time.

3--I'm not wearing any pants.
