I was told today by my doctor that I have polycystic ovary trait. My FSH and LSH levels are very close to eachother, when with this they are normally way off. My period have always been out of wack. I haven't had a period in four months, I am on birth control (not pregnant). I have a hypothyroid. The doc said their is a weak link between the hypothyroid and PCO.

Anyone have experience or info on this? I did a websearch and saw that typically co-occurs with obesity (I am petit), type II diabetes (I have hypoglycemia)... and results in infertility.

I want to have kids, and am not sure if I should worry or not.

Thanks

I was also diagnosed with this about 7 years ago, but I had unbearable pain, cramping, clotting, and had for years. I did have some other issues going on also, so i don't know how much was due to PCO. I ended up having a hysterectomy on the advice of my doctor (at the age of 28) and have regretted it ever since. I just listened to the doctor and had the surgery, due to the pain I was in. Please be sure that whatever you do, and whatever the doctors tell you, RESEARCH your options! I cannot say that enough, nor tell you how badly I regret having a hysterectomy. Make an informed decision no matter what.

Best of luck to you :)

my sister had polycystic ovaries, and now has two infants. i've PCOS am two years older and feature none. thats the change. she has moderate cysts on her ovaries, however now not adequate to avert ovulation. Get a fertility calender and thermometre for boots, plot your basal temp for the following few months and notice if you'll pinpoint ovulation. you havent been driven away, he cant present you therapy for a disorder you dont have, and in getting your companion proven he can make a decision the best way ahead. the one feedback i could have of ur document isn't telling you tips on how to determine for ovulation, however however, if you're ovulating and ur companion is firing blanks (sorry-couldnt positioned it larger) you're going to get extra pissed off. get onto fertility web sites, figure out the ovulation events and tips on how to degree it and begin your self. however to be sincere, your companion demands looked at too.
