A friend of mine became a consultant and convinced me that Pampered Chef products were just awesome. I ended up buying quite a few (what I thought were going to be) handy kitchen gadgets and some stoneware, and to make a long story short, was very disappointed in just about every one. The Stoneware is the only stuff I don't have any complaints about but I wouldn't rave about them either.

After my experience with The Pampered Chef, I have come to a conclusion - one word - OVERRATED! I'm just wondering what other people honestly think about The Pampered Chef?

We were just invited to a wedding shower where you had to buy a pampered chef product for the happy couple. Sorry, I didn't go. I don't own any, don't care to own any, and won't own any. I have done just as well with less expensive things, so why waste the money on gimmicks? To me, pampered chef is a gimmick. They make it sound like you can't possibly make a decent pizza without their products. I've done just fine for a lot of years with the cheaper stuff. A friend had something from pampered chef and she got rid of it. Just another expensive item that was unnecessary to clutter up her kitchen. You are right... overrated. But, they get you in to the parties and tell you how you can make something so much better. Well, my grandma did just fine with what she had, and I can guarantee, it wasn't Pampered Chef.

I bought the bamboo toaster tongs for $2 and they are fabulous and a a bargain! However, the marketing strategy of Pampered Chef is to create a culture among friends, and use peer pressure to generate sales. The products are high quality, but are disproportionately expensive. You are paying for commission, shipping, everyone else's lifetime warranty and advertising brochures, and all the wages up the ladder. Now, if you are a professional cook, or money is no object then Pampered chef is great. But it is easy to want to buy all those trendy gadgets when really, you can just use the hot pads that you've been using already.

I have to admit I always cringe when I get invited to those types of parties(tupeprware, candles, jewelry, and pampered chef.) But of course I go to be nice ... I thought their stuff was overpriced and the products weren't things I would have purchased on my own had I not been invited to their party. The only thing I got that I remotely liked was this baking pan to make a checkerboard cake and also the garlic press. But how often do I really use those gadgets~ once a year. It's just a waste of money and taking up valuable cabinet space.

I have some of it, and I do agree overpriced. Its just like tupperware, I have bought some plastic bowls and kitchenware at the dollar store that did the job.

Hi memyselfandi,

We have bought quite a bit of the stuff. It is overpriced and "gimmicky". We really don't use it at all. One of the shelves in our kitchen cabinet has become devoted to useless gadgets.

I think it's all too expensive. My cousin's husband is part of this and they're always throwing parties. But it's too rich for my blood.
