You have to define computer maintenance - if you're maintaining high performance compute clusters for a large manufacturing firm, you'll make 6 figures.

If you're fixing PC's as a sub-contractor, you may be making $10 / hour with no benefits.

Advantage - the higher skilled you are, the more money you will make - and most PC computer problems are very easy to solve, easy to train people on, so don't really pay well. HPC compute, on the other hand, requires years of experience and high skill, so you make big money.
