It's a type of heel. Stiletto is the Italian word for dagger or carving-knife, and that's what the heel supposedly resembles because it tapers to a thin point.

They are a type of high heel, so-called because they are very narrow (like a stiletto knife).
The best stilettos are 3.5 to 4 inches high with a well-balanced arch and good heel counter (the part that holds your heel).
If you haven't worn them before, you need to practice walking in them - they take a bit of getting used to.

It is only a type of heel, it is a skinny and high heel. I used to think is was a brand... lol.. but then I learned. They are a very beautiful, 'dainty' heel.
Stilettoes originated in the 1950's .
they are very slim, high heels, 3 inches or more in height.
ALSO: Practice walking in them first, they are hard to walk in the first couple of times, and you don't want to look funny walking in them... Lol... Good luck!
Good luck finding a pair!

It's the heel of the shoe. Usually slender and higher than 2 inches. Very sexy, too, I might add. If you choose to buy them, practice walking in them first. Chicks look soooo stupid stumbling all over themselves. Have fun with it though.
