Not for quite some time. First we will have to have house and senate hearings on whther or not to launch an investigation. Then the house will do their investigation into the firing and send their findings to the senate, who will discuss how to proceed with the investigation and appoint at least 3 commitees to discuss this. When they decide to investigate they will need a comitee to decide who should be called to testify, all the while the house will investigate if the forced public testimony will be constitutional, those findings will be sent to the senate who will appoint a comitee on the constitutionality. When the investigation begins the house will at the same time begin to attack any rep[lacement Bush may choose, again launching investigations as to the background of this replacement as well as what was behind the choosing this person. After they humiliate and run off 30 -50 potential replacements, the senate should be done investiugating why gonzales was fired, and put it in the record that he was indeed fired. they will now start their confirmation hearings and deny another 30-50 people the opportunity to serve their country. Of course there will be fact finding investigations to determine exactly why these obviouslt qualified poeple were chosen. Then the house...hell i forgot the question.

If Alberto Gonzales's greatest attribute was being a Mexican American, that's not saying much. We could vote in Cheech Marin because he's a Mexican American. If America is truly blind to ethicity, the next person needs to get the job based on their qualifications, just like Alberto Gonzales did.

I do not know why the democrats are doing this type of stall tactic anyway , they are just trying to ride the clock until vacation time . No one waisted tax money on any reviews or hearings when Bill Clinton fired all 93 of them when he was President , and it was politically motivated as well , Their contracts say that they can be fired for any reason , at any time , Bill fired everyone of them because they did not see things exactly as he did .. But oh no let Bush try it the democrats have to cry they need a hearing , at tax payers expense of course , I would make them do this whole investigation out of their own money . I hope people realize before Nov.08 why democrats were out of power for 12 years , I know we have problems with this republican administration , but the other party is just as bad , and costs us four times the dollars and double sized the government to make the just as many mistakes

What difference does it make what race the person is that replaces Gonzo? If a Hispanic can be found that is the best choice, why not, but we should not put a Hispanic in there just because he or she is Hispanic. By the way I use the term Hispanic because the person could be Puerto Rican or Cuban by ancestry.

No - we'll need a nonpartisan Attorney General who doesn't think international laws against torture are in any way "quaint". This man is a sham of a human being.

He's not a Mexican..because he's a republican. just like Clarance Thomas is not black for the same reason.

Gonzalez is a greaser and Thomas is a ni99er because they don't tow the leftist line. It's ok to call them racist names too, ask any lefty on yahoo answers.
