I'm not a big fan of Kobe Bryant but I respect him as a basketball player. He is the best player in the league right now.

At the moment yes. Nobody else can score at will like him from anywhere, come up big in clutch time, and shut down the opposing teams' best player. Some people can play better defense than him like Artest and Bowen, and others are just as clutch as him(Nash, Duncan), and others can come close to his scoring ability(LeBron, Wade), but nobody can do all 3 things. Well nobody except Kobe. The player who comes closest is either Duncan, Nash, or LeBron, but Duncan's offensive skills aren't dominant, LeBron and Nash play weak defense, and LeBron isn't a clutch killer yet.

No, he's the best 2-guard. I think it's Shaq or Tim Duncan. They score around 20 points shoot at such high percentages, thus allowing the team to make some mistakes, and they free up the perimeter for their guards. Also they are double-double threats, and each one's presence changes the opposing teams game plans. On defense Shaq's mass, and some defense makes it hard to get to the basket. While Duncan misses that mass of Shaq, his better defense alters just as many shots. These two IMHO, are the two greatest players in their position ever. Seven rings in the past eight seasons, that's all I have to say.

To define the best player go to who helps the team and who puts up good numbers all around, and can also come in through clutch time.

1. Allen Iverson - Unstoppable
2. Kobe Bryant - His ego stops him
3. After this point you could throw in alot of names for a tie

Lebron , D-Wade, VC, T-Mac, Nash, Dirk, Agent 0

I can answer in one word and leave it at that, if I so choose.

No.

I'm going to elaborate a bit, just because I want to.

Best Current Player - Shawn Marion
Best All-Time Player - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (by the narrowest of margins over Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, and Bill Russell)

Kobe is the best offense player ever, i did not say the best player ever because his defense not great, but he can jump, shoot, dribble Constance with both hands can player ever positions but center of course, and can do it night after night he'll be on my team and day. Right know i feel he is the best in the league now and will be until he leaves the game!!!!!!!!
