and no i am not talking about just black girls, i am talking about any darker shades of girls? what is that all about? i am very light skinned and the other day i was at kohl's shopping and this darek girl could not keep her eyes off me...she just kept looking at me up and down and i even smiled at her and she still looked at me this way why is that? my mom says its only the darkies that act this way!

The first thing that you should know is that all life came from darkness.Second, any thing that is light comes from some thing that is dark. So if you dislike the Dark you dislike yourself. Third,I think your real answer lies with your mom and her response to you.
I've been a "darkie" all of my life and my biological sisters very light and or fair in complexion and have gray, hazel and green eyes

That is the way, unfortunately, some people are raised or led to think(TV, music videos, etc.), not to mention the fact that it has been done for hundreds of years in this country, and some people are too ignorant to think for themselves instead of following the masses. But, it goes both ways. Light skinned people get preferential treatment so darker skinned people have a problem with it, and then lighter skinned people start thinking that they are better, and it just goes around and around and around. And no, I am not generalizing; I know that all people are NOT this way, but I have seen it happen so often and it is sickening. Also, it doesn't help when a light skinned person uses terms like "darkie". What century is your mother living in?

If this is true then it sounds like the girl just has an attitude problem. As for people with colored skin acting this way all the time, well that's just plain not true. Also you should have more respect for you fellow person and not use racist words like "darkies."

Because in most cultures (people of color) where there is shade variation light skin is considered more beautiful and from there all kinds of complications can and do arise
And what is up with saying the "darkies"? Now I am going to tell you to work up on your typing and whatnot. You're generalizing and using unnecessary language

because of anglo dominance (in recent history), in europe
that led over to the same attitude in america.
lighter skinned people got preferential treatment.
so darker people could be left out of social circles and economic advantage.
so, dark people can resent lighter skinned people, but that is soooo old fashion.
people who still act like that are lame!!!!

Maybe it's because your interesting, or maybe she has bad attitude..Don't blame them..(I'm not a dark or light skinned, I'm normal but more to yellow.)
