I am a 23 yr old female, who is going through a tough time with life right now. I want to go on a vacation to get away, but I do not have any friends to go with me. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could go alone for a trip?

Like other people said, it depends on where you live. Do something different than the norm, and go to a place that has activities that interest you. Are you into hiking? Get away to a small national park near you. If you like horseback riding or whitewater rafting, head to a place in the mountains ( like Tennessee... it's gorgeous up there!). If you love shopping go metropolitan, and head to a big city that either you've never visited or that you've never taken the time to stop and appreciate. I've lived near New Orleans my whole life, and I can still walk alone through the French Market and sit at a cafe and enjoy the atmosphere and the shopping.

Hope things start to look up for you!

Barbados.

I've travelled on my own there 5 times. For budget, stay at Pegwell Inn Guest House, it's the cheapest accommodation compared to other guest houses and to my knowledge. That place is close to everything. Within walking distance to the post office, pharmacy, fast food restaurants, the beaches, amenities. It's only across the street (Southern Plaza) from the guest house.

You could do groceries shopping to save on $$ if you want and store in the fridge at the guest house, but probably small ones may be best.

There's also access to transportation. One way: $1.50 BDS if route taxi or public bus. Or taxi, but of course, costly.

If you choose Barbados, perhaps I can give you more advice. I've been to that guest house, stayed my first time there, and I know my ways around, pretty much. :)

I would go to the Keys.
There are tonnes of people, but just relax on the beach.
You'll be alone then.
