I appreciate everyone who has ever fought for my freedom, however I believe that more often than not our soldiers are fighting for our Governments benefit and not ours.

Much as I respect everyone who fights for their country, I do not see how a war in a foreign land can protect a nation's freedom! Freedom is protected when the enemy knocks on your door and walks on your land!
Plus Canadians are not exactly the war type and surely have a safer and better quality life style.
Now, if low oil prices are essential for a way of life - then sure, life wouldn't be the same if the veterans were not fighting for America's interest abroad.
PS. If the Americans did not take part in WWII Hitler would still be defeated, although it was a great help.

Without our Veterans of Foreign Wars, America would not be Free. Germany sent submarines right up to the Eastern Shores of America. Our Military , took action and has fought for our Freedom continually. Ever since, America's Defence and Military is still protecting our shores. Terrorist now are a huge threat and this is the reason, our Military stands strong. Every American, and no matter what race, religion, or status , needs to remain Loyal. If worse comes to worse we must stand United. This is what our past Veterans did and this is what our Soldiers are doing now. They stand strong in our Freedom. God bless the American Soldier.

I believe that everytime we ignore or pacify something we consider a threat to our country it emboldens our enemies just a little more and it makes us more and more accepting of that which we should not accept.

Look at Iran. Iran is now so emboldened by those calling the US a failure and screaming hate speech and insults twds us and the president and watching how easily the US is persuaded to just give up that they just took British soldiers hostages with no just cause. They dont think we will respond to it because of the way americans, esp the left, are talking about the Iraq war. This doesnt strengthen the US. This anti US loser attitude is making our enemies stronger and us weaker. If we keep it up then we will eventually lose our way of life.

That's a silly question of we wouldn't but how do we repay them ? Dump them on their asses and leave them to survive in a world they are no longer able to relate to so they end up breaking some obscure bylaw and we throw them in prison instead of treating them as the defender's of what we send them out to do

Perhaps not, but they are not fighting to uphold your 'built on sand' way of life, they are abroad murdering to sustain your way of life, and as you eat the meal made in the kitchen by a murderer, and you knew this, so too will you share in his eventual punishment.

There is more room in hell than in America, so plenty of space for you all.

Wether they fight for us or not, war is a waste of time and recorces. Good Luck any whom have had to fight because this is the governments fault, not yours,

No. By now we'd be speaking another language and doing what we were told.
