I am bi and my mom doesn't want to accept the fact that I am with my g/f but why is this and for those of you who may have told your parents before how long did it take for them to get over it?

well i'm not bi and i totally support u guys but i can see why this is so hard for your mom:
she, like many other adults, was probably born and brought up in the era where everyone, men, women, and children, were taught that you could only marry someone of the opposite sex. this was a law, people didn't even stop to wonder if a girl would ever like a girl or if a boy would ever like a boy. so now that things are changing and this is happening, it is VERY hard for these adults to grasp that they have a child or know somebody who isn't like them, somebody they consider "normal".

that's about all i have. good luck w/ your mom!

it's been 3 years since i've told my parents that i am gay and they are still having issues with it little by little. but they are somewhat ok with it. i do bring up that i am gay from time to time because i think they still hope that i may fall in love with a girl.

to answer your question, it really depends on the person. to some it's sooner compared to others. the only thing you can do is continue to live your life as you want it. they cannot dictate to you whom you can and cannot be with.

good luck!

You need to talk to her to find out what exactly is bothering her about it. You two can't move forward if you don't work on the issues in the relationship.
