In this book Allen details how the Nazi party went from relative obscurity to the dominant political party in the small town of Northeim in just a few years. This required diligent dedication on behalf of local party officials, as well as a tremendous amount of propganda in the form of parades, guest speaker engagements open to the public, socials, film showings, all manner of celebrations, and of course a local Nazi publication that provided the news with a serious Nazi slant.

The Nazis were excellent at propaganda, especially utilizing film to show the differences between the godlike Aryans and pretty much everyone else. There's a great documentary called "Desire" with original footage from the period of German physical fitness camps--everyone looks like a blond movie star. And, my dad is 92 and I 56, and I once asked him , Dad how could the USA let that go on,and he said, not much was known at the time world wide, after all,they didn't even have TV then. Film, poster, nazi youth program, promotion of nationalism in germans who resided in Czechoslovakia and Poland... basically the whole thing was about nationalism and Hitler wanting to 'protect' the german aryan race.
