For 3 years I slept in my parents room but not on their bed I slept on the floor. And I dont remember what age it was but it was in my teens probably around her age or no older I remember sleeping in there when i was 14/15 . I dont like to sleep by myself and if I HAVE to I never sleep in the dark or in silence. I dont think its a bad thing, maybe in their bed it is but in the room. It made me feel better and I wasnt alone. After I stopped sleeping in my parents room I slept in my brothers room for awhile on the floor. That was up until last year. My dad is allergic to cats but we had one when I was a baby up until 2003. My boyfriend's brother's found these kittens in a box on the hottest day of the year in an alley off a busy street. They were so cute but I knew I wasnt allowed to have one but I kept talking about it and saying that I'd sleep in my room if I could have the cat. After awhile they said fine I could ONLY have the cat if I'd sleep in my room. Then I also got a TV, so I had the cat sleep with me while I watched TV until I fell asleep. My friends knew I slept in my parents room, I dont think it bothered them much because of course they didnt have to deal with it. Maybe this is just a stage and she'll grow out of it... it could be months or maybe years like it was for me. Maybe shes like me and will not sleep in a quiet dark room and needs a "distraction" like a TV or something. I dont think friends can do much of anything because if you get to involved you might lose her if shes touchy about it. You can talk about it with her and ask her why she does it and understand and just tell her you know that shes not the only one that does it ((you can mention me)) you just wanna know why and what the problem is.
PS- I'm 19

if your friend is a girl and still sleeping with her mom there is nothing wrong with that infact it means that her and her mom get along well together but if it is a 13yr old boy sleeping with his mom it might not be a good idea unless of course they are from the south lol !!

It's a little strange in our culture, but not necessarily unhealthy. Besides if they're your friend and there's no harm in it what business do you have in it? I have a friend who's 24 and sleeps in her mom's bed since she moved back home. Different strokes for different folks.
