can someone tell me whats wrong this carb has been freshly rebuilt but my prob is if i am cruising and ive it a bit of a punch it hesitates for maybe 1/2 sec. then it screams like crazy has anyone else had the same problem this is on a ford 302 motor with e-303 cam and1.7rr

im sorry it does stumble off idle sorry for not posting all info i had 31 squirters in it but now i have 28 and it still does it

and sooty plugs with the 31shooters and the 28 i read the article that was posted in the answers forum and it was telling me with the stumble i should go up with the shooter size but i thought it was already running rich,but they said with that big air pocket i needed more fuel to fill the pocket of air because thats whats causing my stumble by the way great article you posted

It sounds like an accelerator pump problem. If it doesn't stumble off the line, it may be the rear accelerator pump. I have a 750 on my 351W.

I was going to say a bad accelerator pump, but there are a couple of guys that beat me to it.
