I'm having a Sweet sixteen and I just wanted to know how long you think they start planning in advance(excluding getting a performer) anybody know any ideas when and why?

I would say anywhere from 6 months to a year. I started planning mine somwhere inbetween there. This allows u to make sure u will get the place u want and if there is a problem with the invitations or something u will have time to fix it =]

If you want your sweet 16 to be a time of your life then 4 months in advance. Unless you got the money for it then 1 month (since people would be around you because your rich, if not then I would start 4 months earlyer unless you have A LOT of great and caring friends). Just to be safe I would say half a year (6 months) to plan EVERYTHING YOU WANT IN IT :-)!!!!! Like that it would be a lot easier and cheaper. When is your Sweet 16? Because if its B4 summer, I feel bad for you. If you are lucky enough maybe your party would be just as good. But I hope everything works out for the party and GOOD LUCK ;-)!

i started plannning a year before my party. but i've known what i wanted to do since i was like 13
