Yes, of course. That is why I had my whole family stuffed and mounted. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with strings, these are just a few of my most important things. You strike me as someone who values people and relationships far more than you value material manifestations. So, I find this question amusing, coming from you. That was meant as a compliment. I feel sorry for anyone who puts things ahead of people in their order of importance. Now, if it was a bright red shiny new Ferrari we are talking about, all bets are off.

no and no and no again. I am 56, and speak from a bit of life experience. I was also an elem teacher . think about what you would hate to lose the most in your life and to me it would be the love from the people who truly love me for who I am, like my grandmother when she was alive. Her love still helps me out. ANd the love I can give to children. Be realistic and think about what would be the worst thing you could lose and then imagine being without it and then try again and see if there is something more important. I think besides Jesus, the worst thing to lose is your health, I have with a chronic illness and no amount of money can do anything for me :( but life is still good. I have love.

There are very few people who will openly espouse the philosophy that possesions are capable of bringing happiness.

Meanwhile, many people do not trust in themselves or their own strength of character, and so while they profess to being grounded and in agreement with the concept of values where things are not of primary importance, they will carry on in their lives as if everything is predicated upon the acquisition of things to validate who they are and their worth in the world.

It is nice to have nice things, but the fundamentals of love and compassion, sacrifice and gratitude must be welded to the lifestyle or there is an inevitable and unceasing disconnect which will prohibit a sense of lasting serenity and fulfillment.

I sure do feel like things are the most important thing in life, although I hate feeling like that, honestly I wish a fire would take everything I have away from me so I could have an excuse to start over without my life depending on having, depending on, and defending.......things.

Things like friendship, integrity, patience are also important. Seeking material things that are not really needed helps motivate many people to keep at the grindstone so motivation its self is important; more so than the things themselves. Personal growth can be an enriching goal and motivator also.

I don't place much on material posessions, so I believe the important thing in my life is seeing the happiness of others around me.

the most important thing in life is to love and be loved.....nothing else matters.
But having a roof over your head, food, warmth are just as important as long as it is with that person....smile

"things" don't have to be tangible. love, beauty, friendship and happiness are all in theory things, just as material wealth is. they are all important things in life.
