All the Confederate States of America wanted was to be left alone, and to perserve the government that was setup by the American Forefathers. Lincoln wouldn't let it happen.

Union President Abraham Lincoln--- (Racist,Destroyer of the Republic and Constitution) when asked "Why not let the South go in peace?" Lincoln replied: "I can't let them go. Who would pay for the government?"

Abraham Lincoln--- "***** equality, Fudge!! How long in the Government of a God great enough to make and maintain this Universe, shall there continue to be knaves to vend and fools to gulp, so low a piece of demagoguism as this?"

Union President Abraham Lincoln, received a deputation on 14 August 1862 of free Negroes at the White House to which he said--- "But for your race there could not be war...It is better for us both, therefore, to be separated." He advocated colonization in Central America and promised them help in carrying out the project.

To JC: Slavery is in the past. The Confederate States of America ended slavery before the united States of America did.

Confederate States of America Constitution of 1861

Preamble
We the people of the Confederate States, each State acting in its sovereign and independent character, in order to form a permanent federal government, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity-invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God-do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Confederate States of America.

ARTICLE I, Section 9.
1. The importation of negroes of the African race, from any foreign country, other than the slaveholding States or Territories of the United States of America, is hereby forbidden; and Congress is required to pass such laws as shall effectually prevent the same.

I am against slavery of any kind.

To JC: In a true confederated republic, the States or the people have the power, not the national government.

I did not know that. I do know that most all states today find themselves wanting to leave the union. Then it was the union against the confederate states, today its the union against all the states-think about it. We are all "Rebs" today. Actually, its so ironic. We have become what we have destroyed. Did you know that if just 35 governors agreed, the union could be dissolved. The Supreme court, the White house, nor anyone could do anything about it. Our governors are very powerful.

If California ever did break away from the Union, it would NOT be to join a Confederate States of America.

Why? I was born in Oklahoma and reared in Arizona and New Mexico. I don't see the point of doing as you suggest. By the way, sloppy - New Mexico is one of the fifty United States. How come you didn't know that?
