my wheel wells were rusted out so a friend and i decided to use fiberglass. any tips on how to make it last longer, and prevent rust from popping thru again?

i really would not have fiberglassed it. when the rust continues around the fiberglass it will eventually pop off completely. then you are back to square one. should have replaced it with sheet metal and then put a coat of undercoating on it. you can find that at your local auto parts store. since you already did it i would undercoat it and see what happens. there is also an old method of fixing rust no one really uses anymore, take your old motor oil and mix it with some kerosene and spray it on with an old spray gun. works wonders if you do this every fall.

by "use fiberglass" do you mean your replacing your bedsides with fiberglass ones? making your own fiberglass fenders? slapping a layer of bondo on?

because if its either of the first two, you ARE doing what can be done to prevent rust.

if your doing the third...... im sorry
