The pump costs vary greatly depending on the GPH you require for your home. You don't want too small a pump or you'll have terrible water pressure and limited well depth. Also it depends on if it is a surface pump or submerged. We switched ours from a surface pump to a sub-merged recently when the venturie started malfunctioning. I already had the pipe, so all I had to buy was the new pump, the pressure switch, the wire, and a little bit of hardware. It was about $300-$400 in materials and stuff... and took my neighbor and I about a day to switch it out.

Hold on for a minute, who says its the pump?? It is probably that capacator and switch unit mounted on the wall right next to where the pipe enters the house. Replace that switch box first, that has an impedance switch in it that goes bad most of the time, and it is not the well motor way down in the well.
Lowes has those submergible well switch boxes for about $59 and they are simple to replace. I myself, have a deep well 200 feet, and ive gone thru 3 of these switch boxes in 35 years of well usage and the same well pump motor down there has never been replaced.
The best well pump at Lowes costs $289 and the control switch that mounts on the wall is $59. You'd need both.
I dont know how deep your well is but a well under 100 feet you can easily pull that thing out yourself and a deeper one of course can also be done but with a bit more of a struggle.
I would not pay more that $550 to have this done. Call around and for sure that is about what you will find it for.

the cost of the pump is directly related to the depth of the well...if you are doing an exact replacement it will even be less..why are you replacing pump ....most all pumps can be repaired except submersibles...3 wire submersible use a control box that can be repaired i would research it more...but basically since you already have pump you could do a complete replacement or switch out for less than 600 dollars

Depends what 1.6 engine is in it, if its the 1.6 chain driven camshaft then the pump is driven off the alternator drive belt, whole job £100, if your engine is the 16 valve engine then thats a different matter, pump driven off cambelt, could be £250 to £300 if you fit a cambelt kit as well

depending on if the wall of the pipe is not corroded and just replacing pump cost would be around 600.00 if pipe needs replacing like ours did 1500.00

It depends where the pump is located. Is it submersable? Is it located inside? Does it need a tank? How far is the well from the house?
