I will be 39 weeks tomarrow. Last night I was restless and went on an hour long walk, and this started when I got home.

It is a pressure/pain in my pelvic area, pretty much the front V area that a bikini would cover. When sitting or lying it is a pressure, one that I can even ignore. However, when I go to stand or walk it is a sharp PAIN, and the only (slight) releif is to walk "bow-legged" with my thighs spread as far as possible.

The only thing that makes since to me is that the baby dropped and it's her head against my pelivs causing this, but I carried my last daughter to almost 43 weeks and never felt this!

I also have been feeling a pressure on my cervix, almost like my hubby and I had some wild sex and I am sore, but from the top and we haven't been intimate in a while!

Anyway I am wondering if anyone has experianced this, and how long did it last until labor? Was it a sign of a problem? Any ideas or input would be great- thanks ladies!!!

Response to some answers;
No "real" contractions, just some sporadic braxton hicks...

First daughter I had a vaginal delivery, no pain meds or complications...

I certainly wouldn't mind being in labor at this point, maybe I should go on a walk?

are you having contractions? I felt that right before I went into labor so you might want to call your dr. 39 weeks you could go any time no matter what happened with your first good luck and congrats

Honey alot of your symptoms are signs of labor and it depends on how big the fetus is as how much pain you have but a normal pregnancy last 40 weeks is called term so you could already be in labor do you feel like you need to have a bowel movement I would call your doc and ask because it really sounds to me that you are in labor good luck i wish you the best oh honey i forgot you really should see a doc because a lady i worked with had that kind of pain and the baby was stuck in the pelvic bone

I had those same pains with my second pregnancy, my doctor told me it was normal and that it was caused by me dialating. But if you're not sure, you should check with your doc. Better to be on the safe side... Anyways good luck with the new baby!!

Did you have c-section the first time? you should go to the MD, if you had, can be the old wound spliting from the inside, it's usually the bikini area.
