I think that "society" should not be passing judgment on anyone.

I think society views gays and lesbians as outcasts. People who don't fit with the "heterosexual" population, for multiple reasons. Some people don't understand homosexuality, others oppose it from a religious standpoint.

Personally I have gay/lesbian friends and don't treat them any different than anyone else. There is a lot of stigma associated with being homosexual, but I think society is beginning to accept it because they don't see it going away(as opposed to trying to understand it).
