great...
i've been saying this for a while, but this is the year
pinella's going to be a good change, a manager who can get players motivated and who knows how to handle a pitching rotation to keep them good and healthy.
that offseason spending spree was great, with the cubs acquiring a power leadoff man, and two new starters. with our rotation set and tons of seasoned young players waiting in AAA, we look good.
the only question mark is how good will the bullpen be??? If wood gets healthy and dempster is consistent, then we have the whole nine yards. A top setup man in wood and a good closer in dempster.
I predict a playoff apperance for the cubs as the NL wildcard, and them advancing to the NLCS. (and hopefully to the world series).

Go Cubs!!

The Cubs have just as good of a chance as the rest, in fact, a better chance this year. Go Cubs!!!

Coming from a die hard Cubs fan and season ticket holder, I think the Cubs will play .500 ball. It would be awesome if they could make it back to the playoffs like they did in 2003 but I don't expect it to happen. The Cards, Brew-Crew, and 'Stros will be tough this year.

The Cubs have just as good of a chance as the rest, in fact, a better chance this year. They have a real nice pitching staff. Plus the boosted their lineup by getting Alfonso Soriano.

The Cubs went after a lot of talent this offseason. I believe that they will improve and possibly make the playoffs. Considering that the Central division is anyone's league to win. Go CUBBIES!!

The Cubs should do pretty decent. They revamped their rotation with Marquis, although the main people stayed in Zambrano and Prior. They also added Soriano, the best FA Hitter. They also got the best coach, who will love to play in Chicago with good players (ehem Tampa), so in all they should vie for the pennant.

Lou will get the most out of them. Still Woods will be on the DL by May 1st and Prior may make a few appearances which means their pitching stinks again.

Good hitting.
Mediocre pitching outside of Z (who needs an attitude adjustment, but that's my next point).
Too many posterior surfaces (Z, Soriano, and Hill immediately come to mind) for me to like them.
