take SAT
act is more focused on writing, while sat emphasizes more on writing.
ACT has science and math section, SAT has reading, math, and writing
much less math in SAT, apparently.
best way to know is take practice tests and see what you get
plus, ACT has more advanced math than SAT

I took the ACT when i was 13, and i got a 21 on it. then i took the SAT to compare scrores and i would have to say that the ACT is a lot easier. it is all multiple choice and the math is actually really easy if you have the right calculator. The language is pretty easy if you just remember the basics and very little of the hard things. There is not too many social studies questions, however, i will say, there are some of those questions that really get you stumped. and as for science...that is just about the easiest section on the entire test. (not joking). Just read the question (in the science section) and look at every word in it. the answer is most of the time in the question.
overall....the ACT!
GOOD LUCK EITHER WAY!

SAT measures how you think. ACT measures what you know. Both have large math sections. Both require lots of reading. You can skip the writing on the ACT, but many colleges require it.
Start with the ACT and if you're not satisfied with your score, take the SAT. Colleges will use whichever is higher.
Good luck!

i would go with the ACT. I was like that in high school. I practiced with an ACT book and did really well my first time. I wish that I had taken it before the SAT because I sure as heck wouldn't have taken the SAT multiple times if I knew I would have had better luck with the ACT.

ACT, it tests the knowledge you have learned in high school rather than how well you can reason a problem (like those on SATs) plus it sounds like you would do well already on 3 of the 4 sections of ACT, why not do it?

There is math in both tests so that doesn't really make much of a difference, but unless you can't add, subtract, multiply and divide, I wouldn't worry too much.
The ACT is generally easier, I took them both and did quite a bit better on it.
