Depends on the school. Some schools have freshman-only housing or upper-class only housing or certain areas in dorms marked off for only freshman or upperclassmen. However, there are usually areas that are open to everyone, even at schools that have freshman-only and upperclass-only areas. Contact the housing department of your school and see what the rules are.

I actually graduated from UCSB and yes it is possible to share a room with a junior in college IF the junior receives on campus housing(usually its a lottery pool) if she does that then she needs to request that you be her roomate(have you been accepted already) After you receive your housing form in the mail you have to indicate who you want your roomate to be. It may require you calling housing an residential services over the summer but if you put the work into it you can probably work it out.
Also I suggest Manzanita Village or San Rafael for best housing!

Depends on the college. My college had freshman dorms and all freshman that lived on campus were required to live there. Once you were a sophmore, junior, senior then the classes were mixed together in the uppler classman dorms.
My husbands college did not differentiate and all the classes were together in one dorm.

It depends on your school. We had one or two juniors in our dorms when I was a freshman. But most people moved off campus after their first year. You should contact your school to find out their policies. Some places have dorms according to year others mix and match.

it depends on what college you go to and what their dorm rules are. I am pretty sure that most colleges let you run with anyone. They usually try to place freshmen with other freshmen because they want to help them make an easy friend, but if you request someone they can usually accommodate you. My friend roomed with her sister who was a junior and she was going to be an incoming freshman. If you want a more detailed answer just call or e-mail the school's housing department.

In the dorms, most freshmen will be paired with a sophomore or (more likely) another freshman. It's very rare for a freshman to live with a junior or senior since they tend to live off-campus.

Depends on the specific institution. Check the website or call the phone number of the college in question for best results.
May God bless you.

Depends on your college.
One of my friends rooms with a sophomore.
Our college tries to group you with people of the same major rather than classification.

You will usually be housed with another freshman. Do you have someone specific in mind that you want to room with? If you request each other as roommates they will probably honor that.
