I have a rash on my arm and want to see the doctor, but my mom doesnt want to take me. I have already asked her several times. Should i go to the doctor on my own? I am 15 and i dont know how. First of all the doctor is a 15 minute drive from my home and i cant drive. I dont know how to schedule an appointment. I dont know the phone number or doctors office. i dont know how to pay. i dont even know who my doctor is. I am lost and confused. What should I do?

Oh by the way the school nurse is mean and unhelpful, she doesnt help anybody with their problems, once she even told my friend who was having trouble with a stomach ache to not bother her, so the school nurse is out of the option.

18 years of age in all states. Any hospital treating a minor without parental consent is considered medical malpractice. You could get a Judaical bypass, but that's kinda complicated, and unnecessary for your situation.

If you really think this rash is a big deal and your mother doesn't want to take you, then you can call an ambulance that will send you medical help, which ultimately will send you to the hospital with your mother. But that's really extreme.

You can't pay for medical procedures with cash or check, it's done through medical insurance, which is provided by your parents. You pay for check-ups, physical etc, with checks/cash/credit card, but if it's a procedure it's done through health insurance, but for a rash that probably doesn't need anything more than corticosteroid-which can be bought at a grocery store.

Scheduling an appointment is easy. You call up the hospital, and they'll tell you some dates they have avaliabe, pick on and then you go with your parent(s) to the doctor.

Going to the hospital is such a hassel because it takes forever to see a doctor. Especially if all you have is a rash, they'll make you wait a long time while they deal with patients that have more imediate needs and you'd be surprised what they cosidered higher priority. So you have too look at it from your mom's perspective who probabaly realizes that rashes do go away and how wasteful a wait at a doctors office can be.

All school nurses are useless and mean. They can't do more than give you a band aid and grape juice.

In most states in America you have to be 18.Maybe in all the states,Im not sure. You have a rash on your arm.It probaly does not need medical attention. If the rash is dry then use lotion on it,that`s what most people does.

Sorry mom is not able to take you to the doctor, because I believe you have to be at least 18 to sign for yourself.
