Neptun about 450, two tanks of gas

Well, that is a pretty hard question to answer...

Neptune is orbiting the Sun in a huge eliptical ring that is on average about 2.8 million miles in radius.
Earth is orbiting the Sun in a smaller eliptical ring that is on average about 93 million miles in radius.

One orbit of neptune around the Sun takes 164.8 Earth Days.
one orbit of the Earth around the Sun takes 365.26 Earth Days.

So, at a time when the Sun, Neptune, and the Earth were lined up exactly in a line (like 1, 2, 3), the shortest distance you would have to travel is 90.2 million miles. However that is not the real distance you would travel because you would need to circle the Earth several times (or more) prior to blasting off for the planet Neptune to get your launch window correct. That might add 100, 000 to 250,000 miles to your flight. Neptune is also a Gas Giant so there is no possibility
of landing there when you arrive. So, that means you will most likely orbit around the planet several dozen times. That adds another 100,000 to 250,000 miles to your trip.

On average I would guess your trip might be from 91 to 93 million miles to get there.

Regards,
Zah

Neptune is 2.7-billion miles from Earth. However, if you were going there in a rocket ship the trip would be much longer because you couldn't go in a straight line to Neptune.

I believe it is several billion miles. It would take years to get there, using available technology.

Do you mean the shortest distance from here to there, or the trajectory necessary for an actual flight?

In you live in Asbury Park, NJ then it's only a few miles.

Too damn many for you to go there on foot my girl!

Were you thinking of going over there for your "honeydoom" or something equally exciting & romantic?

Have fun!
