Def Leppard

My detalied reason? Alright, you asked for it.....

First of all, their music. Since their first album "On Through The Night" was released in 1980, they have written and recorded amazing music. Every time they've released an album, it's sounded a bit different than everything else, yet it still has that signature Def Leppard sound of amazing guitars, an amazing rhythm section, Joe Elliott's unique voice, backing vocals, and something special that no one could ever pinpoint.

They have such a variety of songs, that there is something for every mood. Whether you're happy, sad, angry, in love, depressed, excited, etc, etc, etc. I could go on and on. No matter how you're feeling, there's a Def Leppard song to go along with it.

Now beyond just the music, is the fact that they've never stopped making music. In 30 years, Def Leppard has never even taken a full year off. They're literally always working, whether touring, writing, recording, etc. They have a better work ethic than 99% of other bands, which helps keep them on top.

Also, I have a lot of respect for Def Leppard as a band. The fact that Rick Allen lost his arm and he worked so hard to learn to play drums with one arm is amazing. And the fact that the band waited for him, without even considering a replacement, is very respectable.

I could go on about the respect I have for them as people, but that would just make this whole thing longer, so I'll stop with that.

The last reason I feel the need to mention is that they put on a live show better than anyone else I've ever seen. They manage to sound incredible, interact with the audience extensively, and they move all over the stage. Their live show is amazing.

Other than all of these things, it really comes down to what Def Leppard means to me, personally. The songs are a huge, important part of my life. The members of the band are my heroes. I'm extremely passionate about Def Leppard because of what their music has done for me in my life. It's one thing that's always there, no matter what. At times, it's been the only thing to make me smile. I can't say enough good things about Def Leppard.

There are many other reasons, but I won't get into those. It would just take too long.

So....there's the detailed reason that you asked for =)

The Rolling Stones, and if you want details, I'll give you details ;-)

Theyre really one of those bands that first introduced me to music. You hear your parents listening to music, but at a certain age, you actually notice it, and either like or dislike it. I remember I was around five or six and I heard "Sympathy for the Devil" on the stereo and I absolutely loved it. I wanted a recording, so I waited by the radio until it came on again, and quick pressed the record button on the cassette.

I must have played that tape over and over again. I knew all the words, and my parents would have endless fun touting their amazing six-year-old classic-rock-singing daughter to all their friends.

As I grew older, I descovered other music, but was always 100% in love with the stones. I would watch movies of them, with Mick strutting around on stage like a chimpanzee on crack, Keith and Ron absolutely shredding, and Charlie (highly underrated) drumming the night away.

I think that the best part about them is that tey are so versatile. They traverse the boundaries of genre effortlessly, sliding from country, as in "Honky Tonk Woman", to harder rock, like in "Paint it Black" and into lovely, whimsical tunes like "Ruby Tuesday", even into very modern stuff in their new record "A Bigger Bang". Whatever they do, though, everything sounds fantastic. They just put so much energy and effort into everything they do, that even if you aren't a huge fan of the particular song, you can still get a kick out of listening to it.

Recently, I got to go see them, which is pretty much my dream come true, seeing as how I always thought they'd be dead before they ever came near me. I got to the gates 10 hours before the show, along with quite a few other people, and when they opened the gates 6 hours later, I RAN. It wasn't that hard to outrun all the fourtysomethings that made up the majority of the crowd, so I ended up with a front and center seat (stand?) for the ROLLING F*CKING STONES!

They put on the most incredible show I've ever seen in my life. Mick Jagger hopped around like a Mexican jumping bean, belting out "Brown Sugar" and making hilariously high-pitched "Whoo-whoo"s during "Sympathy" and all this while wearing what looked suspiciously like orthopedic shoes. Keith Richards, despite the fact that he appears to be actively decaying, can still churn some killer riffs. And good old Charlie rocked the night away, smiling like crazy and looking weirdly Asian for some reason.

I even got a pick from Keith. It's in a frame now.

The Rolling Stones rock so much harder than all of the bands today that label themselves "rock" and the Stones have been churning out stunning records since before all the kids from "My Chemical Romance" were in pampers. They are real rock and roll, and they are definitive rock and roll. Very few bands have ever been comparable to the Stones, and the way it's going, it looks like not many more are going to be.

I could write a freaking dissertation on the Rolling Stones, I love em' so much.

CHEAP TRICK...just listen to their 1977 self-titled debut album and see what I mean. Their guitar sound has just the right amount of feedback and echo and the tightness of the drums and bass sound amazing. What else do you need in the perfect band but, Robin Zander, one of the most recognized voices in Rock music. What other band could perform a song so good as "I Want You To Want Me", "Surrender", or "The Flame"? Their lyrics really related to my childhood growing up. They sang about having fun, getting into fights, money troubles, and stickin' it to "the man." I don't think anyone else in history besides The Beatles, have release perfect album after perfect album. I think they are great and recommend that you check out their albums. It'll be well worth it!!!

Queen. For one, just the impact they left on music is so big. Freddie Mercury also had one of the greatest voices ever, and Brian May on the guitar was amazing. Their music was suprisingly intricate and complex for a rock band of the era, and I kind of like all the varied influences they had. Plus their live performances (Freddie in particular) were amazing. And then there's the whole "Bohemian Rhapsody" thing, which doesn't need any elaboration.

When I was a young teenager and I heard Aerosmith for the first time and was hooked! Toys in the Attic is my favorite album ever (besides Hotel California). I wanted to be an Aerosmith groupie, but I wasn't even allowed to date. Anyway, when they got back together in the 80's they started to do top 40 songs, it was depressing for me. No more edge, no more rebellion. Sad.

Insane clown posse. reasons:
"Juggalo culture is as misunderstood as it is lacking in academia. "Juggaloism" is a movement that has been thriving all over the world for the past 10 years as both a music subculture and as a spiritual philosophy, known as the Dark Carnival. Juggalos are basically outcasts from all walks of life who were brought together and united by the group Insane Clown Posse, and created a world amongst themselves free of hate, prejudice, racism, sexism, and celebrated the differences that drive many in mainstream America apart from each other. Culturally diverse people who embrace this movement see others for who they are instead of what clothes they wear, their social class, etc., and love each other as much as or even more so than normal people love their immediate families. Juggalos are people who have shared similar experiences of being picked last for a sports team in high school, who have had abusive parents, who have not been blessed with the necessary support to grow and prosper in life, who have not had others to turn to, and who have been shunned by the macrocosm of society for simply being who they are. With the expansion of this culture over the past 10 years, you can find Juggalos everywhere. For every religion and music culture: punk, hip-hop, rave, etc., you can find Juggalos, who share an amalgamated belief system that is not written in stone, but embedded in the heart and conscience of every true believer of this movement. On a cosmic place, the Dark Carnival is a spiritual philosophy quite similar to Eastern theologies that involves living one's life in a way that treats every person equal, regardless of the color of their skin, their gender, their religion, their sexual preference, and every other "distinction" that often separates humanity. Experiencing the world through the vantage point of a cultural relativist is a major concept in the values that all Juggalos share towards themselves and towards the rest of society, even the society that has systematically oppressed them in various ways for refusing to conform to the mainstream."
