I need a name for a character.
She's sort of weird and freaky, like the weird one in her clique of friends. She's got her own thing going on. She's supportive of her friends and she's out-going.
If it helps, she's 13 years old. So far, I like the name Lydia, and I also like the name Madison.

Monique-Its unique! (and it rhymes. yay.)
Dani- super cute
Ava- Gorgeous
Sophia- (or sophie) Beautiful, exotic name
Kailyn- Strange, but a good name

I love those names...along with Ariel, Evangelica, Emma, and Jenna. I love Lydia, and Madison is cute, but it is kind of unstrange and preppy, which sounds like the opposite of your character. Good luck!

The more you know about your characters, the easier it is to name them. So far, you dont know very much about your character. What you do give us is kind of shallow. The first step is to do a character study and analysis on all your characters. Once you have taken her from a flat one sided person on paper to a full well rounded character, the name will pop out at you. I use a baby name book and try to find names that mean something that represents the character. I named my son the same way. I named him "Travis" - French for 'crossroads' because he was the crossroad in the way my life was going and he took me in a new direction. Work on your character studies, saying "she's got her own thing going on" tells your reader nothing, Pax - C.

You have a good amount of information to start picking a name, or which ever one you feel fits the character best at random. What I use often for my characters is www.behindthename.com and www.20000-names.com There are great sources of information for different names, their meaning, and origion if that is important to you.
For your character I would think Chelsea. It is an outgoing name, and even though it may seem like her name puts her as one of the same crowd of her freinds, but her actions speak way louder. It also sounds fun and inergetic.
Good luck with your writing girl.
God bless you

That is easy for me- Because I'm exactly like the character you said! Try Kat , or Charisma, or even Dynasty! I hoped I helped. Oh and my name Is Kat- that is why I threw it in there!
