I think people are voting for him to make a mockery of the show!
Sanjaya Malakar, 17, is from Federal Way, WA. He auditioned in Seattle with his sister, who was eliminated at the Hollywood stage of the competition. Sanjaya says he started singing as a little boy and had formal singing training.
Sanjaya, who spent four years performing with the Hawaii Children Theater, claims he is a shy person and says "I'm scared that I'll never be able to walk into a supermarket without someone recognizing me." His music idol is Stevie Wonder.

AI is a certainty television practice. it somewhat is it. and that i think of that is hilarious that Sanjaya remains there, no longer even in the backside 3! i'm particular that is making the manufacturers shake of their boots that a "singer" like him could get a checklist deal. If Sanjaya is that undesirable, why did they permit him to even bypass to Hollywood after auditions? Why did they %. him to bypass directly to the coolest 24? provide me a wreck, each element AI manufacturers do, they do for rankings! And if Sanjaya gets into the finale, then all of them deserve it. Geez, human beings, do no longer take it so heavily, that is purely a television practice for crying out loud!

You have to admit he is original and is making the show really fun this year! Without him on the show.....It's boring! Vote for sanjaya big time!!!!!

i think that he will be on for a while because of 2 things. First, I heard that Howard Stern (who hates American Idol) is getting people to vote for SANJAY to keep him on the show to spite viewers. Second, I think he actually has fans, somewhere. I know I am not one of them.
