and I was called out last night to go to East La. I called my boyfriend up to tell him I wouldnt be coming over since I have to go to see a patient. Now should he have offered to go with me being it was 7pm at night 1hour away and in a really bad area. I got mad at him for not offering but he said I should have asked him to come along, that he cant read my mind. I feel that if he really cares about my safety I wouldnt have had to ask. what do you think??

Well, it is YOUR job, so if he doesnt really want to go on every trip with you, I don't blame him. Why not just tell him? He CAN'T read your mind. It's not a matter of your safety, maybe he just felt that it would be an insult to you or just an ego boost for himself if he demanded to ride with you and be your Knight in Shining Armor for a house call.

ok it's true men are NOT mind readers but if I were a guy and my girlfriend was going to some bad place at night I would offer to go. I think you have a right to be mad.

Try not to take his reaction too personal. It goes both ways. You could have asked, he could have offered. Don't be hurt by it, just invite him if you want him to go. Some guys are a little dense when it comes to things like that.
