I'm thinking about a dog for my kids. What is a good family dog? Not too big... Not too small.

Labs & golden retrievers are very gentle with children.
But honestly, if you want a medium sized, good-natured dog (labs are big!), go to your local humane society. Interact with the dogs there, let your kids look at them, see how the dogs react to children..... you will find a perfect family member!

Miniature or standard schnauzers are good family dogs. If you can handle hyper, jack russell terriers are amazing. If you can find a cross between the two, you will have memories to last a lifetime.

Labradors, Border Collie, Collie, Old English Sheep Dog, Airdale Terrier.
Which ever one you think is the cutest!!

A Standard Poodle! I have two. They are GREAT with kids, especially males. they can get up to 70 pounds but most you will find will be around 50.

golden retrivers are great family dogs and they love kids.or a lab.consider going to a pet shelter they are some of the best pets you can have.good luck.

Corgis are great dogs for families - and they're medium sized - and ohhhhh so cute.

A collie or american eskimo!!!!!! I used to have an american eskimo! She was great with kids, loved to play, and is a big love! I miss her soooo much though......... :'(
