if period of revolution is doubled, what will be the effect on the centripetal force?

Sojsail has it backwards.
If the period is doubled the velocity is halved.

F = mv^2/r

You do the math.

The centripetal force = m*w^2*r.

So if w is doubled, the centripetal force is quadrupled.
