Okay, I needed to rent a tree stump grinder, I am into landscaping business and this guy at Home Depot rental department has been a real p rick to me in the past , I called this morning to confirm my picking up this machine, and this guy answers the phone (unbeknowing to me , that this is the same guy from before) and he talks to me like a prison guard, telling me Sir!!!! Sir!!!! YOU HAVE TO DO blah blah blah blah!!

I just listened very patiently, and then he began to make me angry again.

so I just called his manager and explained the situation, he said he was sorry and that he would talk to him, and I said thank you , good bye.

But then... I thought, I want some "COMPENSATION", so I called back and asked for half off ! and the manager told me 20%. and I said 25%! and he said no, just "stick with 20%".

im a coward, and 20% is a lot!

its better than nothing!

you were kinda lucky to be getting anything at all!

and personally i wouldnt have phoned back.

next time remember to mention it in ur argument, they might be more willing to give you the extra discount if it doesnt seem like youv had to think about it before calling back!

good job tho stickin up for urself!

well... i believe you may be blowing this out of portion. it just seems like that to me because you think you deserve a certain percentage off the stump grinder, and then you tried negotiating. i'll be honest, i wouldnt have you do any landscaping for my home. next time just go elsewhere, like a company that specializes in renting out power tools and large equipment.

He's probably only authorized for 20%. Be thankful to get that. You can go to Lowe's next time.

They're usually not one for negotiating compensation. I've always just taken what they've given me.
