You can use any of the majors, like www.hotels.com, www.expedia.com, or www.travelocity.com, but with caution. I have worked at a hotel for many years and will tell you that they're not always the best way to book. The deals aren't always the best, and you get very little choice in what you book. Anything you want (two beds, nonsmoking) is NEVER a guarantee, only a request, and you could end up with the exact opposite if it's all the hotel has. If you need to cancel a reservation, it's very difficult to get a refund. You probably run the least chance of getting upgraded, and if you belong to any hotel's loyalty program you won't earn the points on these visits since you paid a third-party.

Check out these websites, then check out the hotel website itself for specials. Call the hotel directly, or their 1-800 number. If you do still go with a Priceline type offer, read the fine print.

I have always used, and will continue to use http://www.hotelclub.net and http://www.ratestogo.com These websites have never failed me yet, that's why I always recommend them to my family and friends.

Their membership program is great and you can be sure that your credit card details are safe. Your entire booking process will be handled professionally.

I have recently heard that they have been acquired by Orbitz, I guess now they would be offering more hotels at greater discounts.
