This has many variables..GB loses a income source & also has to spend money in their reaction. The colonies lose a stable source of resources, but has gained it's own way to set a course for growth, politcally as well as economically. The colonies at this time, are almost broke & must also face any enemy threats on their own.Britain,is also faced with slow information feedback,as well as dealing with France. Not sure if this helps but...I tried.

We thought we could run our own show.
We felt protected by a big ocean.
We decided that God was on our side.
We thought we had plenty of resources to live on.
We thought we would do a better job of runnng a country.

We were arrogant. And about to get a history lesson.
And hopefully some humility.
