If you have a crossover cable (a special kind of ethernet/LAN cable) than you can use the wireless access of your laptop. Run the cord from the 360 to your computer. Go to Network Places on your Start Menu and click View Network Connections. Right Click on the Wireless connection, choose Properties and then go to the Advanced tab. Check the box that says "Share this connection with other computers." If you have any trouble after this, chances are it's your firewall. The only additional cost would be the cable, which shouldn't be anymore than $20.

You need the wireless adapter that attaches to the back of your 360. Can be bought for like 30$. Setup a signal to connect to your router wirelessly and bam you win.
